Robert Headley - Partner, Ignition Partners and Company Director

 

Robert Headley is a partner at Ignition, one of the nation's leading venture capital companies. Ignition invests in dynamic early stage software development and communications technology ventures. In his role with Ignition Partners, Robert invests in telecommunications and wireless companies. Robert also acts as Ignition's Administrative Partner overseeing the firm's day-to-day operations.

 

Robert represents Ignition as director on the boards of Enclarity and Extend America. Prior to joining Ignition, Robert spent seven years at Starbucks Coffee Company, most recently as vice president, Finance & Treasurer. In that role, he managed Starbucks Investor Relations, Corporate Development, Treasury, Business Planning & Analysis, and Profit Improvement functions.

 

At Starbucks, he played a lead role in the company's acquisition of operating units in the Northeastern U.S. ($25 million), Northern California ($10 million) and the UK ($80 million). He spearheaded equity and convertible debt financings that raised several hundred million dollars for the company. He also played a key role in the company's joint venture agreements with Dreyer's and Pepsi, the latter a $60 million joint venture that has captured the leading U.S. share of the ready-to-drink coffee market.

 

Prior to Starbucks, Robert spent three years in the Principal Investment Area and Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in New York and Sydney, Australia.

 

Robert holds an M.S. and B.S. degree with distinction in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
